Synopsis:

At the height of 1,350 meters is a small granite hillock, nestled amidst the chains of mountains, formed like a valley closer to Ghati Subramanya, a well-known pilgrimage center. Just 2 hrs drive away from the city of Bangalore which is approximately 65 km away. There is a fort on top of Makalidurga and a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This mountain is filled with date plants, lemon grass and small boulders. Get the glimpse of the mountain train passing through the valley at the foothills of these mountains. On either side of the base of these hillocks, there are huge lakes, each spread for more than 1-2 km radius.

How to Reach:

At a distance of 65 Kms form Bangalore. Travel from Bangalore > Yelehanka town signal > Doddaballapur road > Doddaballapur > Towards Ghati subramanya > The road forks, thus take the left (right goes to ghati) > Makaliduraga is on the left hand side. I suggest to ask the locals for "makli" and not makalidurga.
