Costing: Rs. 300/- per head (for 3 persons) including food & transportation. Suggestion: Carry back all the glass/plastic wastes and dispose the same in a proper bin. Synopsis: Shoolagiri is a perfect week end get away which is located in the Hosur taluk, Dharamapuri district of Tamil Nadu. Shoolagiri gets its name from the tall rocky three-pronged hills which appears like a trishul (weapon of Lord Shiva). Another attraction close by is the Chinnar reseroir that is located about 5 kms away from the hill and its worth taking a walk along it's long bund that is accessible by vehicles too. How to Reach: Shoolagiri, 21 km's from Hosur and 65 km's from Bangalore on the Hosur- Krishnagiri road (NH-7). Once nearing Shoolagiri (on the NH-7, lookout for a church on to the right side and a sign board 'Shoolagiri' on to your left) the road forks to the left and you will find a big tower right in fornt of you. Continue on to this road (exiting NH-7), and you will enter Shoolagiri. To reach the reservoir form the base of the hill, turn right while coming out of the temple road on to the main road. Further ahead you will find the Shoolagiri Police Station on to your right. Soon after the police station take the narrow road to the right and keep hitting straight. After about 3-4 kilometers you will find the road forking again. The left road leads up the dam and the right goes to a small temple on the left side. You may prefer to go up the dam to park your vehicle and pitch your tent.
