Suggestion: Carry back all the glass/plastic wastes and dispose the same in a proper bin. Caution may be exercised for leaving any valuables in you vehicle. There has been many reports of Engine, Carburator, Helmet and Petrol theft.

Synopsis:

Skandagiri, also known as Kalavara Betta, is an ancient mountain fortress located 50 km from Bangalore, and 3 km from Chikballapur in Karnataka. It is off Bellary Road (NH 7 Hyderabad-Bangalore Highway), and overlooks Nandi Hills, Muddenahalli, and Kanivenarayanapura. The peak is at an altitude of about 1350 meters. It is known as the "adventurer's paradise" that features night trek, altitude camping, stunning sunrise, and serene and ocean like clouds.

How to Reach:

Skandagiri is located 70 km from Bangalore. Travel on the Bellary Road (NH 7), turn towards Nandi Hills. At the base of Nandi Hills turn right and proceed to Kalawara village via Muddenahalli. At Kalawara village ask for Omkara Jyoti Ashrama/Papagni Mutt. There is a Shiva temple near the base of the hill, where vehicles can be parked.
